Editing the photos,  can be done in many ways today.  Size of the photo,  cropping out unwanted items or people.   Colour can be made into Sepia or Black and White,  to give an old time look.  You can also, focus colour in a certain area to highlight an item.  A bouquet,  a ring,  or whatever it is that is important to you.   Take a look at some ideas on this blog for your Wedding Photo Album.  Being a Wedding Photographer in North Bay Ontario,  gives you many options in Great Sights to have Your Special  Pictures Taken.  Some are included on my site,   The waterfront,  the carousel,  beaches abound and the Cruises on Lake Nippissing.  We have great sunsets year round,  and even great sights for Winter Weddings.  there are great accomadations for your first Night as man and Wife,  and some of the Finest Restaurants in Canada.

Senior’s Portrait’s  are photos to remember our past and future.  Hearing senior’s stories of days gone by,  and their interpretation of today,  and tomorrow,  help us put our lives in perspective.  To get a portrait,  you need them to relax,  through conversation.  Try to catch the moment, with a look on their face,  or a twinkle in their eyes.  They are indeed our past,  and in many ways,  our days to come.  TAke the picutre,  but make it memorable.  100_0210-1100_0218

are treasured for a lifetime.  Unfortunately,  there’s only one chance to do it right!  Your Wedding Pictures, or Wedding Video/ Slide Show, will be viewed for years to come.  On anniversaries, or with your kids, who want to see What You Looked Like,  on your wedding day,  along with other special times,  as you share your lifetime together.
Planning the photo session,  includes the Lighting.  Is the wedding, outside or inside?

One difficulty to overcome,  is a Wedding Outside/Inside.  For example,  on a Cruise Ship,  or a Room with many windows.  Natural Light is great,  but,  it makes the Picture difficult to capture.  You have to adjust for Inside Lighting and the sun’s natural light,  throught the windows.

Also,  at many Weddings,  children take part in the ceremony.  Flower Girls,  or Ring Bearers,  can get distracted easily.  So many people all trying to capture their attention.  I like to get to know them a little,  and discuss what they are doing,  and what I am doing.  Thankfully,  digital review at the scene, helps to  get their interest,  as most children like to see themselves.  But,  they have to find the whole process interesting.  so,  I include them,  wherever possible,  to assist in  the process.

CeremonyInside ChurchPlanning ahead is important.

Because your wedding pictures are so important, and you only get one chance to get it right, so,  preparation is everything! The Beauty Within

These are some of the things I like to do in order to prepare for your big day;

  • Talk to the Minister or Whoever is in charge of the Wedding.
  • It is important to know if there are any times,  Pictures are not allowed during the ceremony.
  • Am I allowed to use Flash?  You need no disruptions,  during this event.
  • I can adapt to their rules.

You,  will be busy during the wedding, looking into each other’seyes, visiting with your friends and guests, and enjoying your special day.  The last thing you need to worry about, is what your photographer is doing. What your photographer does during the day, will  however,  be your eyes in the future. I want you to be happy, with what you see!

As  I mentioned,   I like to go to the wedding site,  and plan ahead.   I will often take a few sample pictures to test the lighting.  You have chosen this place to be the site of your wedding,  for a reason.  Great wedding photography,  should remind you of that,  when you look at your wedding pictures in the future.

That’s why I want you to go to my Wedding Photography Tips list @ Wedding Photography, “Shots You’ll Want to Take.” and make a list!

Pet Photography is a joy to participate in.
We love our pets,  and would do anything  for them.  They truly appreciate everything we do for them.

To take pet portraits is important for the future.  It is important for the present as well,  as our beloved pets change so quickly.  To take pictures of pets,  whether for family albums or for a pet contest,  they are memorable.  They show us how our cat,  our dog,  or our horse fits into the family.  You can be sure,  that our pets are remembered and often discussed throughout our lives.  When you look at Family Photos in years to come,  seeing our change in hair style is fun,  but seeing our pets when they were young gets more reaction.  Seeing them with their favourite toy,  or giving you a kiss of appreciation and love,  gives such a rush of warm,   loving emotion,   it is almost unsurpassed!

We normally outlive our pets,  and great photos of our pets for posterity,  is a must.  Looking at these pet photo keepsakes,  gives joy for a lifetime.  Your pet always seems to know when something is bothering you.  Whether its the cat rubbing against your leg,  or the dog licking your face,  telling you it will be okey,  they make us feel a little bit better.  A pet portrait will be for for a lifetime of remembering ,  of telling you it will be okey.

Regular photographs of your pet can be a great tool to return them to you.  Heaven forbid,  they ever go missing,  but it could happen.  A recent picture of your pet could be the greatest factor in finding them  A picture is worth a 1,000 words,  and could be made into a poster.

Not everyone can take pet pictures,  as many people have fears of animals.  Pets sense the fear,  so find a photographer that can connect with your pet.  Great pet photography,  lasts a lifetime and beyond.  Pet portraits end up right next to the grandparents on the mantle.  Enjoy the memories.

Plan Ahead
Plan Your Wedding Photos

Wedding Photography

is perhaps the most important photo session you’ll be involved with.

The main reason,  is you get only one chance to get great wedding pictures.

Here are some ideas that I hope will help with your wedding pictures.

It’s important that you communicate with your wedding photographer so that they can get to know you and understand,  what is important to YOU.   I’ve provided a list of  Wedding Photography “Shots You’ll Want to Take” which should help you decide what special shots you want of your wedding day.

Is the wedding inside or out?

In the area where I live, picturesque North Bay, Ontario, Wedding Photography is often taken outside.  The beautiful natural views add a wonderful element to wedding photos.  As a wedding photographer, taking outdoor wedding pictures can be very gratifying.  This type of photography requires a few extra planning steps which I always take in order to lower the risk that Mother Nature can present.

Here’s a short checklist of some of the things I do for my clients to ensure that their wedding pictures are memorable;

  • Check the weather channel to know what to expect.
  • Go to the site of the wedding a few days ahead; pick out good backgrounds for pictures; and check the Lighting for the time of day,  the Wedding will take place.

Great Wedding Photography,  doesn’t happen by chance, and again there is only one opportunity for you to get perfect wedding pictures.  So be sure to work with your wedding photographer and plan your wedding pictures ahead of time.

The photo above, with sunset background,  is from a wedding I shot last year.  The bride and groom were very pleased with this particular photo,  as was I.  The extra steps in planning this wedding photo,  was well worth the effort.

The Sepia photo,  with the group,  was in Mexico,  and I edited for the Sepia look,  which,  many clients like to see.  The Bouquet was included to show their newly acquired rings.

The Perfect End to Your Day!Planning ahead,  is the Key for Optimal Memory Creation in your wedding photography.  It is a wedding photography tip,  I can’t emphasize too much.
First, know what you want.  Review the list, I have provided on Wedding Photography,  “Shots You’ll Want to Take.” It provides ideas for you.
Add to the list any Special Pictures,  that are  important to you!
Remember its all about You!  You  don’t get a second chance to make great wedding photography.  If you plan ahead,  you will get to enjoy, this special day,  through your wedding pictures,  for many years to come.

Thanks Dad

Hi Everyone,

When considering your wedding photography, don’t forget to think about special shots that you’ll want to take.

Preparing for a wedding is a huge undertaking.  In fact, it makes sense in a lot of cases to hire a wedding planner to organize the event for you to make sure you don’t miss any of the important parts, and watch the budget at the same time.

To help you out, here’s a list of photo shots you may want to consider including in your wedding album. You may not want all of these, but this will serve as a checklist.   Also,  find a volunteer to organize the people for the photos you want,  or it will get very frustrating,  for you and your photographer.  You don’t need to do this yourself.  It’s YOUR DAY,  so Take a Little Help from a Friend!  Also,  I like to ask the preacher,  if there is times he doesn’t want pictures taken,  or a flash used.  make the day go easier for everyone.

Remember, after your wedding day, it’s too late to take the shots you wish you had.

Hope you enjoy…
